First let me say, I have some pretty great friends and family! I have been wanting to do a “Trash the Dress” shoot for a while now, but I lacked a model and a dress for the shoot!
A little history about what a “Trash the Dress” (TTD) shoot is all about…
TTD is a new trend in wedding photography where a bride (and sometimes the groom) will want to do pictures that they might not have been able to do on their wedding day because of stress or fear of getting the dress dirty. It allows the bride to be herself and show off her dress in ways she wouldn’t normally be able to pull off. Maybe she wants to go the beach and play in the sand and the waves, ride a horse, or go in a more urban direction and find some abandoned building to pose in. Whatever the location, it normally gives your wedding pictures a more “you” perspective. Most of the time we never even get close to “Trashing” the dress, sometimes it just gets a little dirty. But brides seem to love it because as one lady said to me “I’m never going to use this dress again, so why not have some fun with it?”
It’s definatly not for everyone, but for those of us who would like the opportunity to rock that wedding frock it’s a great option!
This past weekend my cousin Michele was in town and like me, she is normally down for just about anything, so I asked if she would be willing to model for me and she said yes! So now we just had to find a wedding dress, and my friend Kristy came to the rescue and donated her wedding dress to the cause! Now we were off and running! We got Michele ready at the studio, made phonecalls to parents and friends to let them know this wasn’t a shotgun wedding and we were off! Enjoy the pics! We had a blast!

Thank you to eveyone who made this shoot happen!
